Landscaping & Lawn Care

Hedging & pruning in Laidley.

Hedges shaped, trees pruned properly, all the green waste gone.

A sharp hedge lifts a whole street, and a butchered tree drags one down for years. The difference is knowing what to cut, when, and how much.

We shape hedges laser-straight, prune trees and shrubs for health as well as looks, and cart every scrap away.

Hedges: straight lines, healthy growth.

Anyone can flat-top a hedge; keeping one dense, green to the base and dead straight is a craft. We trim little and often rather than hacking hard once a year, keep faces slightly tapered so light reaches the bottom, and string-line the tops because eyes lie and string does not.

Lilly pillies, murrayas, viburnums and photinias, the usual suspects around Laidley, all respond fast to a proper regime. Two or three visits a year keeps most hedges showroom-sharp.

Pruning for the plant, not just the look.

Good pruning is mostly about what you take out that nobody sees: deadwood, crossing branches that rub wounds into each other, water shoots stealing energy, and growth heading somewhere it will be a problem in three years.

We cut to the collar so wounds heal, time the work to the species (roses and fruit trees in winter, spring bloomers straight after flowering), and never leave the tortured stubs you see after a chainsaw cowboy has been through.

Height, powerlines and knowing our limits.

We handle hedges and trees up to the height ladders and pole saws safely reach. Above that, or anywhere near powerlines, the right answer is a qualified arborist with climbing gear and traffic control, and we will tell you so rather than have a go.

What we can do is keep things from ever getting to that point: regular reduction keeps most screening plants and small trees at a size that never needs the expensive crew.

The cleanup is part of the job.

Hedge work makes an astonishing mess: a metre of trim off a long hedge is trailer-loads, not bags. Every job includes the full cleanup: clippings raked from beds and lawn, paths blown, green waste loaded and gone the same afternoon.

You get the sharp hedge and none of the aftermath. That is the whole point of paying someone.

Green waste gone. Included, always.

The most common corner cut in this game is leaving the mess. Every job we do includes the haul-away: clippings, prunings, old turf, the lot. Not an add-on. Just what a finished yard means.

Fair questions

Hedging & pruning FAQs.

How often does a hedge need trimming?

Most formal hedges here want three or four visits a year through the growing season, fewer in winter. We set a rhythm per species and book it in advance.

Can you bring an overgrown hedge back?

Usually, staged over a couple of seasons so it stays alive and green. Some species take hard cuts well; we will tell you honestly which approach yours needs.

Do you prune fruit trees?

Yes, in their right season, for shape, airflow and fruit you can actually reach. Winter for most, straight after harvest for the stone fruit.

What happens to all the clippings?

They leave with us, same day, every job. Green waste disposal is included in the quote, never a surprise line item.
