Why base prep is the whole game.
Turf is farm-fresh grass with almost no roots. Whether it thrives or dies is decided by the 100mm underneath: old weedy grass killed off properly so it cannot come back through, levels graded so water sheds away from the slab, and a bed of decent underturf soil for roots to dive into.
Skipping that prep is how you get the lumpy, patchy lawns you see a year after a cheap job. We would rather lose a quote than lay turf on a bad base.
Choosing the right grass.
Around Laidley the shortlist is short and proven. Empire zoysia for a fine, slow-growing lawn that shrugs off heat. Sir Walter buffalo where there is shade from trees or the house. Couch where you want a hard-wearing surface for kids and dogs and do not mind more frequent mowing.
We will stand on your site and tell you which one suits the sun, the traffic and the amount of mowing you want to own. The dearest turf is the one you have to replace.
Watering that actually happens.
Every dead new lawn has the same story: the watering plan relied on a human with a hose in February. Establishment needs water every day for the first fortnight, and that is exactly the fortnight life gets busy.
So for most jobs we fit simple irrigation while the ground is already open: pop-ups for lawn, drip line under mulch for beds, on a controller with the buttons labelled in English. It costs less than replacing dead turf once, and the lawn never knows a bad week.
From booking to first mow.
Turf is a same-day product, so we schedule tight: base prepped and approved, turf cut that morning, laid and rolled by afternoon, watered in before we leave. You get a one-page establishment guide and we check in during the first fortnight rather than leaving you to guess.
First mow is usually two to three weeks in, and if you are on one of our mowing rounds we time it perfectly and treat the new lawn gently until it has knitted down.

Which turf variety should I get?
Depends on shade, traffic and how much mowing you want. Zoysia, buffalo and couch each win in different yards; we recommend after seeing yours, not before.
How much water does new turf need?
Daily for the first two weeks, tapering off over the next month. With irrigation fitted it happens automatically; without, we give you an exact simple schedule.
When can we walk and play on it?
Light foot traffic after about two weeks, kids and dogs at full noise after four to six once it has rooted down. Lift a corner; when it fights back, it is ready.
Do you fix irrigation you did not install?
Yes. Broken pop-ups, solenoid gremlins and controllers nobody understands are bread-and-butter call-outs for us.
